Vaccines are making it possible for us to reconnect with loved ones that we haven’t seen in WAY too long.  How much have your grandkids grown?  Who had a baby? Or got married?  Or simply just survived a really tough year?

When you finally get to reconnect with your family, your smiles will be extra big and your hugs will be extra warm.  Invite a photographer to capture it all - because if we’ve learned one thing in the past year, it’s how incredibly important our loved ones are.

I love extended family sessions because they allow you to freeze time and remember what everyone looked like together at a certain point in time.

1.Opportunities to capture special family connections are rare. When’s the last time you had a photo of all the grandbabies together?  Or your siblings?  And cousins?  Envision Great Grandma sitting proudly like a queen, surrounded by all of her great-grandbabies.  This is one of the most precious family portraits I’ve ever taken - from my Grandma’s 90th birthday party, just a few years before she passed.

2. Your love cannot be recreated. The family-centric nature of the event also allows people to mingle and interact in a natural manner, not influenced by any other focus of the event. This gives us a lot of flexibility and space to focus on the family, and create a variety of stunning portraits as well as special candid moments.

3. It’s a great time for casual candid photographs. We spend most of our time during extended family shoots capturing candid images of family members reconnecting, playing, laughing, and sharing stories.  We keep the vibe super relaxed, so when we sneak off for some posed group portraits everyone is already at ease.

3. Holiday Cards & Special Announcements - DONE!  In addition to candid photos and special family groupings, we also spend a few minutes with each family unit, and snap individual headshot of each person. The variety of images you receive in your gallery will set you up for your annual holiday cards and other special announcements like graduations and engagements.

4. Life is Short.  With so much uncertainty in our world, you can use this opportunity to capture the love between you and your people and cherish the memories forever.

Extended family portraits are priceless. They tell so much of your family’s collective story, and they show the relationships are missing from the smaller, immediate family sessions.

As you continue to build your own family legacy, make sure you capture it along the way.
