Glimmer Images is now accepting applications for Associate Photographers to support our growing Lifestyle Photography business.
WHAT DOES BEING AN ASSOCIATE LOOK LIKE?
GLIMMER IMAGES
We take care of the business side of things
We manage marketing, lead inquiries, client communication, questionnaires, invoices, billing, contracts, …etc.
We will train you on the Glimmer Images brand, workflow, and client experience
We handle editing, delivery, and sales for every session
We pay you a flat rate for each session
ASSOCIATE
You LOVE working with families and are great with young children
You own professional cameras and lenses
You are comfortable shooting during golden hour
You have evening/weekend availability in the Fall and Spring seasons
You have experience running lifestyle family sessions solo from start to finish
You are efficient and able to cull and upload raw files within 24 hours of the session
You are well-organized, on-time and have reliable transportation
You have a warm, kind personality and stay calm in stressful situations
You are receptive to feedback and open to learning new things

WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR
Experience as a professional lifestyle photographer with a minimum of 20 family sessions under your belt
A portfolio that includes lifestyle family sessions
Ability to prompt and direct clients as needed
A kind spirit and friendly, enthusiastic personality
Casual but professional
Reliability
Professional gear: DSLR or Mirrorless camera bodies and prime lenses preferred
Access to own vehicle for business travel
Professional insurance preferred
YOUR ROLE
Meet & Greet with families prior to the session (in person or via video chat). Establishing a connection with the client before the session is important.
Training with Elisse to master the Glimmer Images brand and session experience
Site visits to familiarize yourself with the location prior to the session
Prompt and effective communication via text and email with Glimmer Images and our clients
Independently photograph and manage lifestyle family sessions
Cull the top images and transfer them via secure upload within 24 hours of the session
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
This is a Part Time Contract (10-99) position
Associates must be available for sessions that take place in the evenings and on weekends
Glimmer Images will be responsible for the booking process, administration, post-processing, product design, and delivery of the finished product to clients
This position does not include in-studio / office work
This position is compatible with another part-time or full-time job
Families are not for everyone. The ideal associate will have a love for family and childhood photography, patience, a willingness to work hard, and a positive attitude

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A full-frame, professional-level DSLR or mirrorless camera body. The camera should have dual card slots. Mirrorless gear is strongly preferred. I'd also like for you to have at least a 50mm prime lens.

YES! You'll be hired as a contractor, not an employee of Glimmer Images. We believe in community over competition and encourage you to continue working in your own business. We want to see each associate thrive! You are not allowed to promote your own business while working for Glimmer Images. We also ask that you disclose if you are an associate shooting for another family photographer while under contract with Glimmer Images.

Rates start at $150 per session, depending on the Associate’s experience and type of session. We also pay travel fees for locations that require more travel time for you.

You will be able to use images in your portfolio with written permission from me 6 months after they have been delivered to the client AND if the client has signed a model release. You may never use the Glimmer Images edit of the photo, but you may edit them yourself. You must use the following format when crediting the images at all times on all channels - photo by "your name" for Glimmer Images.

You will be personally trained by Elisse. We will build off your current photography knowledge and train you on the Glimmer Images standard prompts/poses and session flow to get the images our clients expect from their sessions.
